Best Practice in Managing Performance and Expectations

Best Practice in Managing Performance and Expectations
Tuesday, February 19, 2019 - 12:30 to 14:00
Worthington’s Solicitors, 24-38 Gordon St, Belfast BT1 2LG

The time and cost involved in recruiting a new manager in a workplace can be significant. You and and/ or your Trustees can spend several months developing a job description, advertising and recruiting for a senior manager.

So once a person is recruited, what if you have concerns at an early stage that it is not working out?  Whether it is an individual's performance, conduct or simply the person doesnt fit with the organisation's culture and values. This can be a challenging situation for all involved.

Louise McAloon, Partner at Worthington’s Solicitors will examine how best to manage performance and expectations of senior staff in their first year of employment.

The session will cover :

  • Probationary Reviews
  • Dealing with Difficult Conversations
  • And how to make the necessary changes (and even departures) as painless as possible

Whether or not this is a current situation for you, it is always helpful to be reminded of the best practice for potential HR scenarios you may face in the future.
