Building Leadership Resilience
As all Chief Officers know, effective leadership requires high levels of physical stamina and personal resilience – as well as vision, networks, knowledge and skills. Many of the leaders I work with in are very busy and over stretched. They value space in which they can think clearly, be innovative and plan how to implement change. However many have moments when they feel isolated, not sure who to trust and partner with.
Evidence shows that personal resilience is critical to being able to sustain effectiveness in one’s leadership role. This full-day development session will provide you with a range of practical tools and techniques to help you increase your leadership resilience and also importantly develop it in others particularly the people you lead.
The objectives of this session are to enable you to:
1. Understand the ‘human side’ of change
2. Develop leadership strategies for supporting ourselves and our staff through the change process
3. Understand your particular energisers and stressors and how they impact on your leadership particularly during change
4. Assess your leadership resilience and develop a personal strategy
5. Enable your team and staff to be more resilient and build this into your organisational culture.
The workshop will provide a safe space to learn from experience, strategize tactics, recover your energy and vision, build resilience and steady inner disequilibrium as part of a trusted group of confidantes – a network of leaders and peers across other organizations who can provide each other with perspective and support.
