Do good without falling over - supporting trustees of small charities

Do good without falling over - supporting trustees of small charities
Thursday, March 22, 2018 - 17:30 to 19:00
RCN, 38A Oldtown St, Cookstown BT80 8EF

“If you need something done, ask a busy person”.

You’re a trustee of small community groups or local charity. You’re a busy person. Dependable, involved in many things, and inevitably juggling competing demands of home, work and voluntary activities. And the job of being a trustee seems to be getting harder - more demands from regulators, funders and membership bodies - and although you know there’s a good reason for it, it can feel like there’s a lot of administration which is nothing to do with the reason you got involved.

CO3 are an organisation that are there to provide you with support. We believe it is possible to do good without falling over. We’d like to invite you to a low key, relaxed and informal discussion on how you can fulfil the responsibilities of being a trustee without it overwhelming you. We’ll cover what you’ve got to do and how you can make it easier. We’ll link you with others who are in similar circumstances.

     Agenda

  • Nora Smith (CO3) : Introduction and Welcome to the CO3 Trustee Network and the support available.
  • Roger Courtney: An Overview on the Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees.
  • Kate Clifford (RCN) : Good Governance support from RCN

  • Q&A
