Forewarned is Forearmed – Understanding the Implications of Financial Pressure

Wednesday, November 14, 2018 - 17:30 to 19:00
Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, 17 Clarendon Road, Clarendon Dock, Belfast, BT1 3BG

The charity and not for profit sectors in Northern Ireland are not immune from the general economic pressures that remain following the crash a decade ago and those brought on by the current uncertainty surrounding Brexit.

Insolvency is an issue that has impacted upon this sector locally. Whether it is insolvency of a supplier, customer, funder, or employee it is important that directors and trustees have an awareness of their options and duties to mitigate and minimise the negative impact on their organisation.  Led by Darren Bowman, Director of Business Recovery and Insolvency at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, this workshop will include -

  • Brief summary of Insolvency Processes in Northern Ireland
  • Early warning signs of insolvency and how to address them
  • Directors duties to minimise and mitigate the risk of insolvency
  • Recent case studies relevant to the charity / not for profit sector

The specialist Business Recovery and Insolvency team at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore is one of the most active and experienced in Northern Ireland, providing advice on all debt, recovery and insolvency issues to individuals, company directors and professional advisors. Where organisations are underperforming, or are financially stressed, solutions are found that will preserve business value and restore viability for stakeholders.  Darren Bowman has significant experience in both personal and corporate restructuring and insolvency.
