Middle Managers’ Toolkit: Harnessing the power of influence and persuasion.
Wednesday, March 27, 2019 - 09:30 to 13:00
Parliament Buildings, Stormont

As the final workshop in the “In Praise of Middle Managers” series, CO3 in partnership with Extra Care and Baker Tilly are excited to announce the next session.  This session will take place on Wednesday 27th March at Parliament Buildings, Stormont.

This half day workshop will be titled Middle Managers’ Toolkit: Harnessing the power of influence and persuasion.

  • Using the feedback collated from previous participants, this workshop will address a number of challenging scenarios that Middle Managers regularly encounter.  We will adopt an interactive approach and utilise the wealth of experience within the room to address the following areas and allow participants to take away valuable insights.

  • Hidden Authority: Exploring the theory behind formal authority and real authority. We will explore the difference between the right to decide and the effective control over decisions. We will look at how we can understand this unseen structure and apply it to our own environment and organisation.

  • Sources of Influence: Identifying key sources of influence to harness your ability to understand motivations and influence outcomes.  Understanding the psychology behind Fundamental Attribution Errors.

  • Power Double Bind: We will explore the sweet spot between damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Increasing your range of power to find your voice.

Places are restricted to a max of 30 places.
