Recognising our Emotions and how to use these as a resource in our lives

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 - 12:30 to 14:00
Newlife Counselling, Bloomfield House, 395-405 Upper Newtownards Road, BT4 1RH

Do your emotions get the better of you at work?

How can we best respond when under pressure or stressed out at work.

This workshop is designed for anyone who faces important challenges in their work and seeks to reduce stress while optimising decision making.

This lunchtime workshop will look at how our emotions inform our day to day lives, and guide our behaviours.

People sometimes speak of emotions getting in the way of what they are trying to do – like obstacles. While we do not experience this so much when we are feeling good or joyful, negative feelings are often experienced as an unfortunate extra burden in our lives when we have a difficulty.

In this workshop you will be encouraged to:

  • Recognise and name negative emotions;
  • See negative feelings as signposts, rather than fixed truths about ourselves and who we are;
  •  Use the information our feelings provide to make fresh choices about how we respond to difficulty and shift some established and outmoded behaviour patterns.

Date: 26 July 2017

Time: 12.30pm - 2.00pm

Cost: None
