CO3 Leadership Conference 2012

The awards will celebrate the innovative and progressive ways that leaders in the third sector are meeting the needs of their service users at a time when budgets are tight and organizations in the sector are expected to conform with a tighter regulatory framework. The biennial leadership awards were first presented in 2010 with over 300 people attending a gala awards ceremony in the City Hotel, Derry~Londonderry.

CO3 is delivering a broad range of activities to help the NI Voluntary and Community Sector become more skillful in working together. As part of this initiative, CO3 have commenced its third Mentoring Programme to enable members to benefit from the experience and knowledge of their peers, either from within the Third Sector or from the public and private sectors.

Third Sector Leaders meet to discuss a new vision for Health and Social Care

On Monday 17 October 2011, CO3 hosted a leadership seminar to allow leaders in the Third Sector to consider the shape of the new structure of health and social care, what might be the third sector’s increasing role and what might the sector need to do to effectively deliver more health services.

Speech by Minister McCausland - 8th September 2011

Please see below some key points from Minister McCausland's speech given yesterday. The Minister conveyed a positive message about the role and importance of the sector but reflected the need for a 'new era of self reliance' that would seek out and reward innovation and entrepreneurial leadership. The Minister made some comments about the Regional Infrastructure Programme in which he indicated a 25% cut and a single or consortia funding approach.
