Launch of Collaboration NI

A new service to support charities to collaborate more effectively has been launched at a conference attended by over 100 third sector leaders on the 30th March 2011. CollaborationNI will serve the Northern Ireland voluntary and community sector on behalf of the Building Change Trust and is also supported by the Department for Social Development.

CO3 has announced the development of a new website to help leaders thinking about mergers in the Third Sector.

AmalgaMate has been developed to share learning, tools and ideas from the merger that led to the development of Age NI. It is packed full of freely available documents for you to download and utilise to guide your merger process.

CO3 welcomes the review of the Compact and the efforts of the Voluntary and Community Unit and the Joint Forum to produce this Concordat. Third Sector leaders are very mindful of the need for effective relations between government and the third sector. CO3 wants to strengthen relationships with leaders across sectors and has undertaken a number of activities to develop and build relationships, and joint partnerships. This has included:

CO3, the representative body of third sector chief executives has welcomed the CBI’s ‘Time for Action’ report.

Commenting Majella McCloskey, Director of CO3 said:

“This is an important report that all leaders in Northern Ireland must give credence to. CO3 agrees with Terence Brannigan’s assertion that it will be in working together that government, the public, private and third sectors can face down the grave economic challenges with which we are confronted."
